KOZAK SYSTEM (a.k.a. Haydamaky until 2012) open new stadium in Warsaw

Musicians from the band KOZAK SYSTEM opened the new football stadium in Warsaw along with popular Polish group “Voo Voo”.  At the opening of Poland’s main EURO 2012 football stadium, the musicians performed their “golden” concert repertoire.  Despite the freezing -12 temperature, the bands gave it their all and played for over an hour non-stop.  The crowded sports arena was drawn to the music and responded to the musicians with a very warm welcome.

Ivan Lenyo, KOZAK SYSTEM

“…This stadium has been opened in a very interesting and historical part of Warsaw.  The “Narodoviy Stadium” once stood in this very spot.  It played a very important role in Poland’s sports history, but it had less pathos”

The opening of a new arena has truly been a significant event for the Polish people. But we noticed that they have remained reasonable, reacting adequately to the events. Therefore, the West, that is, the event was not something that stopped traffic, changing the usual rhythm of life. In one word, people didn’t stop cooking in order to open up this stadium.  The event was deemed as important, but a local event…”

KOZAK SYSTEM were the only foreign band invited to the official ceremony.  Other than these Ukrainians, only Polish groups performed on this day - Zakopower, Coma, T. Love та Lady Pank.

After a short creative break and a “Gold Record” for the bands’ joint album, Haydamaky and Voo Voo’s concert initiated a renewed cooperation between the two groups.  The musicians plan to start work on a new project very soon.  Both sides already have ideas for the project and so it won’t be long before we see performances by the creative tandem both in Poland and Ukraine.
